Anoop Desai on his album, fans, car trouble, growing up Indian American in NC, clinical depression, and more!
Robin Milling interviewed Anoop on Monday while having lunch at Hard Rock Cafe. The interview just aired this afternoon on blogtalkradio.com. You can listen to the archived version and find out what he ate (and didn’t eat) at Hard Rock Cafe by following THIS LINK.

They discussed a wide range of topics, including: his upcoming album (Bollywood-influenced pop tentatively titled “All Is Fair”); the car trouble that gave him an epiphany; his fans (Anoop loves his fans!); growing up Indian American in the South; and being clinically depressed during the first year of college (which is partially due to a failed romance).

What’s great about most of Anoop’s interviews is that he’s always so introspective and thoughtful one can tell he’s got lot of “layers.” Sometimes because of the way he dresses or they way he looks, he may come off to some as very laid back and kind of aloof and self-absorbed.I think his self-awareness is often mistaken for self-absorption.
If there’s one thing that I’m sure of, it’s that he is fiercely LOYAL to his friends and that he’s a hopeless romantic. He may say (in that interview)that he’s learned from his heartbreaks but idk,I get the feeling this is the same girl he has mentioned about several times….looks like he’s been hurt real bad with that one and that there’s still something there(and that was a LONG time ago)…
^I agree, just on face value, My Name is a better title that All is Fair(again,it’s all about love with Anoop)….
great interview. even though she talked a lot about AI, she asked a lot of new questions and he gave out a lot of information. plus I love listening to Anoop talk and get a feel for what’s on his mind. Very excited about the music. JMO but I think a better title woudl be the same as the song he mentioned. “My Name”
